This week during the Great Kindness Challenge, let’s show care for one another with simple acts like starting with clean hands! Handwashing is an easy act of kindness that protects classmates, teachers, staff, and our community from getting sick.
Please remind your student to:
Wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (sing the ABCs or hum a short song!).
Wash before eating, after using the restroom, after recess, and whenever hands are visibly dirty.
Use hand sanitizer when soap and water aren’t available.

We hope everyone enjoyed our unexpected winter “break.” All campuses and offices will open at normal times on February 2, 2026. We’re excited to see our students back and ready for a great day of learning!

We will continue to monitor weather conditions and additional closings or delays will be communicated through our district website, social media channels and mass notification system.

Student safety is always our top priority. Texas law now requires schools to provide families with information about the safe storage of firearms. Please review the attached letter for important details and helpful resources on keeping firearms secured and out of reach of children. Thank you for helping keep our students and community safe!
With the chance of winter precipitation this weekend, Howe ISD reminds you to be knowledgeable regarding our inclement weather procedures. In the event of a school closure or early dismissal, parents and guardians will be notified through our Thrillshare messaging system by email, text or phone.
