Today is the last day of classes before students head out for a well-deserved break. While our students start their Spring Break tomorrow, our teachers will be on campus for a professional workday.

Last night, the Board of Trustees approved the 2026-2027 Howe ISD School Year Calendar. The Howe ISD District Calendar is voted upon by the teachers and staff of our district. All public school districts calendars must meet the laws passed by the Texas Legislature.

Due to a water main break in town, Howe Intermediate and Howe Middle Schools will dismiss early today at 1:45 PM. Buses will run at that time.

Huge shoutout to @livingforzachary for the amazing AED donation to Howe Intermediate!
Nurse Whitney recognized the importance of Living for Zachary's mission and pursued their grant. The organization has been transforming youth safety across Texas by providing thousands of youth heart screenings, AED donations, providing CPR/AED certification, offering scholarships, and awareness events. Every kid deserves that layer of protection. Having an AEDs on campus isn't just about being prepared, it's about showing our kids that their safety matters. Deep gratitude to Living for Zachary for trusting us with this responsibility and for the life changing work they do every single day.

This week during the Great Kindness Challenge, let’s show care for one another with simple acts like starting with clean hands! Handwashing is an easy act of kindness that protects classmates, teachers, staff, and our community from getting sick.
Please remind your student to:
Wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (sing the ABCs or hum a short song!).
Wash before eating, after using the restroom, after recess, and whenever hands are visibly dirty.
Use hand sanitizer when soap and water aren’t available.
