The mission of the Howe ISD School Counseling Program is to assist all students in their quest to become productive citizens and responsible, lifelong learners through their academic development, personal and social growth and career exploration

Howe ISD School Counseling Vision Statement

The School Counselor will help provide an atmosphere of security, warmth, and encouragement as Howe ISD students work to reach their fullest educational potential in the areas of academic, career, and personal development. The School Counselor will also commit to establishing a solid foundation as Howe ISD students successfully manage their lives as healthy, responsible and productive citizens who respect themselves and others.

What does the school counselor do? 

Each campus counselor is unique is school duties. However; we share the same core belief that students are our priority. We want to build a trusting environment that provides conversations, counseling, group counseling and outside referrals. You can click each link for the campus you need to reach. 

Help for Families

  • Clothing Assistance
    Peggy's Porch is a community clothing closet made possible by generous people throughout the community. Ms. Peggy’s Porch is located directly behind City Hall at 116 E. Hanning Street in Howe, easily accessible from the parking lot between E. Haning Street and E. Davis Street (across the street from the First Baptist Church)., Howe, TX, United States, Texas.


  • Food Assistance
    Feed My Sheep is a local food pantry partnered with the North Texas Food Bank offering assistance to the Howe Community. Date and hours of operation can be found on their website.


  • Family Assistance
    Family Promise of Grayson County provides 24-hour shelter, meals, transportation and supportive services for families with children. The program is a partnership with faith communities throughout Grayson County. In partnership with Family Promise of Grayson County, congregations provide overnight lodging to our guests.   • Holiday Meals
    Counselors have been a vessel for community groups to donate food for holiday meals. If you are interested in donating meals or are in need of meals, reach out to your campus.


  • Angel Tree
    High School Student Council organizes the Christmas Angel Tree Program. Parents that are in need of assistance can reach out to your campus but information is typically posted on the Howe ISD homepage with registration links. Angles are typically available to select from each campus around Thanksgiving or shortly after until the week before Christmas break.


  • Bullying Awareness
    Stop bullying.org  Providing parents and children with resources. Parents, school staff, and other adults in the community can help kids prevent bullying by talking about it, building a safe school environment, and creating a community-wide bullying prevention strategy.
