Maintenance Worker
Job Title: General Maintenance Technician
Location: Howe ISD Facilities
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced General Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Howe ISD Facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general maintenance tasks, with a particular emphasis on drywall and painting.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance tasks
Perform duties such as repairing or replacing drywall and painting.
Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
Cooperate with the rest of the staff.
Follow all health and safety regulations.
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
Perform some grounds duties to create a safe and welcoming environment.
Additional: Collaborate and support the transportation department duties.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a General Maintenance Technician.
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
Experience with drywall and painting is a plus.
Ability to work with attention to detail and maintain efficiency.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision and work as a part of a team.
Ability to follow all health and safety regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification will be a plus.
Additional: District will seek individuals who are willing to become CDL certified.

Cafeteria Worker
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cafeteria Worker to join our K-12 school team. This position plays a critical role in providing students with nutritious meals in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong organizational skills and a passion for supporting the health and well-being of children.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Serving:
Prepare and assemble meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines, menu requirements, and food safety standards.
Serve meals efficiently to students, ensuring portion control and accommodating dietary restrictions as needed.
Sanitation and Safety:
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, serving areas, and dining spaces.
Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Perform daily cleaning tasks, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
Inventory and Supplies:
Assist with inventory management by monitoring supplies and reporting shortages.
Receive and store food deliveries, ensuring accuracy and proper storage conditions.
Customer Service:
Foster a positive and respectful environment for students and staff during meal times.
Address student inquiries and concerns with professionalism and care.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other cafeteria staff to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in special school events or programs requiring food service support.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food service or cafeteria operations is preferred but not required.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds.

Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification is a plus).

Schedule typically follows the school calendar, with occasional early mornings or evenings for events.
Custodian
Description:
Daily Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas. Empty trash and recycling bins, restock restroom supplies, and ensure all areas are sanitized.
Building Safety and Compliance: Inspect and report any maintenance or safety concerns, such as leaks, broken equipment, or hazardous conditions. Take immediate action to resolve or report issues according to school policies.
Special Projects and Event Setup: Assist in setting up and breaking down areas for special school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities. Provide support for school functions as needed.
Minor Repairs and Upkeep: Conduct minor repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing broken fixtures, and performing basic maintenance tasks. Work with the maintenance team for larger repairs and upkeep.
Grounds Maintenance: Help maintain outdoor spaces, including sweeping sidewalks, picking up litter, clearing leaves, and ensuring a tidy and inviting school entrance.
Supply Management: Monitor inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and submit orders for replenishment. Ensure proper storage of cleaning products according to safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Ability to work independently and follow a schedule while adapting to changing priorities.
Substitute Bus Driver

Title: Substitute Bus Driver
Location: District Wide
Description:
Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
Drive bus following assigned route and adhere to established schedules.
Monitor traffic, weather, or road conditions and make adjustments to ensure student safety.
Perform pre/post-trip inspections to ensure bus can be operated safely.
Report all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, and mechanical problems and complete required corresponding reports.
Perform emergency evacuation of students on bus when the situations warrants.
Supervise students entering/exiting the bus and while crossing the street.
Maintain student discipline and use effective behavior management techniques.
Report discipline problems to appropriate administrator.
Have proper knowledge of emergency equipment, such as first aid kit, fire extinguisher, flags, fuses, crow bar, and reflector.
