iPad Protection Plan
Howe ISD offers an optional protection plan for student devices.
Howe ISD recognizes the importance of protecting the investment of the Bulldog Connect 1:1 Student Device Initiative by providing low cost, elective insurance to families to cover the cost of accidental damage, loss, and theft. Protection Plan Overview
iPad Protection Plan is available for purchase each school year beginning July 1st. Deadline to submit payment and enroll is September 30th. No exceptions will be made after the deadline.
New students enrolling throughout the school year must opt-in and submit payment for the iPad Protection Plan during the online enrollment process. The iPad Protection Plan is valid only for the current academic school year.
Payments should be made online using the new lunch money portal (more information coming soon!) via credit, debit, or electronic check.
If an electronic payment is not possible, cash, check, or money order should be made out to Howe Independent School District and submitted to the campus office.
Students will be held responsible for the full cost to repair or replace the iPad and all accessories if the iPad Protection Plan is not purchased, or three or more incidents occurs within the coverage period. *Repair and replacement rates are subject to change without notice.
Protection Plan Coverage
In the event of an accidental damage claim:
The student and parent/guardian responsibility is $0.
If three or more incidents occur within the coverage period the student is responsible for the full repair cost.
In the event of a theft claim:
A police report must be filed by the student or parent/guardian and a copy must be provided to the campus assistant principal.
The iPad Protection Plan will pay 70% of the replacement amount. The student and parent/guardian will be responsible for the remaining 30%.
In the event of a lost claim:
The iPad Protection Plan will pay for 50% of the replacement amount.
The student and parent/guardian will be responsible for the remaining 50%.
Terms & Conditions
In the event the iPad and/or case is damaged intentionally or recklessly, even if the iPad Protection Plan was purchased, it is at the campus and IT Department’s discretion to decide weather or not the student or student responsible will be charged 100% of the cost to replace or repair the damaged device and accessories.
Failure to keep the iPad in the district issues protective case will forfeit the iPad Protection Plan coverage.
If three or more incidents occurs within the coverage period, the student and parent/guardian are responsible for the full replacement or repair cost of the iPad.
Repair and replacement rates are subject to change without notice.
iPad Protection Plan fees are non-refundable for any reason. If an iPad is reported lost or stolen and is later found, refunds of any kind will not be issued.
The iPad Protection Plan does not cover replacement of the device charger.
