Board Approved Charge Policy | Howe ISD Cafeteria Guidelines-Negative Balance
Parent will be contacted by any or all of the following means when a student's account becomes negative: written notice sent home with student, email or phone call.
Negative Balance Grace Period | If a student's meal account reaches a negative balance, that student will be allowed to charge meals until they reach the following limits:
Alternate Meals | When a student's meal account reaches a negative balance at or below the charge limit, that student will receive an alternate meal at a reduced rate.
-$0.75 | Breakfast will consist of toast, fruit and milk.
-$1.50 | Lunch will consist of a sandwich, fruit and milk.
End of Year Procedures | Charges will not be allowed three weeks prior to the last day of instruction. Students who do not have the necessary funds to pay for a meal will be given an alternate meal.
