Paula Lashley | Principal

With 19 years in education, Mrs. Lashley has a passion for helping students and teachers grow. She started her career as an English teacher in Gunter ISD and later in Frisco ISD, where she loved connecting with students through reading and writing.

Her leadership journey continued as an assistant principal in Celina ISD, gaining valuable experience supporting teachers and building a positive school culture. In 2024, she became the proud principal of Howe Intermediate where she continues to inspire excellence and foster a nurturing learning environment for all students.

Above all, she believes in creating a school where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to do their best.

In the past I have served as a social studies content lead, and have taught grades 6 through 11. In addition to teaching, I’ve had the opportunity to coach several sports, including football, basketball, track, and tennis. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially running and hiking. I also enjoy playing the guitar. My two energetic beagles help keep me on a daily schedule and add a lot of joy to my life. I earned my Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, and my Bachelor’s Degree from The College of New Jersey. One day, I hope to pursue a doctorate degree to continue growing as a leader, to further help educate our future generations at a broader scale. Thank you for welcoming me—I’m truly looking forward to serving the students, staff, and families of Howe, Texas!
