Welcome to the Howe Community Library Website. Our goal is to provide our users with books and other materials for information and enjoyment.

Texas Reading Club Sessions on Wednesdays - join us for crafts, stories, snacks, and lots of fun!  Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.
July 1st - Mockingbird, Our State Bird; July 8th - Texas Size Butterflies; July 15th - Bluebonnet Day EVERYONE WEAR BLUE! ; July 22nd - Texas Travel Trails; July 29th - End of Summer Awards Celebration and Water Play Day (wear your swimsuit and bring a towel - you are going to get wet!!!)
 
Crafty Kids - Come and create some fun crafts. Thursdays at 2:00 p.m.  July 2, 9, 16, and 23.
 
Wee Readers - Story time for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Fridays at 10:00 a.m. July 10, 17, 24, and 31
 
Also - be sure to sign-up for the Summer Reading Program.  Everyday that you read helps you earn really cool prizes!  Pick-up information and a reading log at the information desk.
 
 
 
 

Friends of the Library                                                                                                                                                                    Our Friends group will be meeting on July 16 at 6:30 p.m.  We will be planning fun activities for the library and creating a  Friends display.  We are always looking for new members.  The cost is only $3.00 a person or $6.00 for a family.  Membership forms are available at the library.

Adult Scrapbooking Session 

Do you enjoy scrapbooking?  Join us for a fun night of "big girl" fun as we spread-out our photos and
work on finishing some projects.  Enjoy an evening without the kids!!!  The next scrapbooking
nights are scheduled for July 10 & August 7 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.  $5.00 is all it
costs - Bring your favorite snacks and drinks to share.  Proceeds from the night will
benefit projects of the "Friends of the Library".  Call the library at 903-532-5519 to reserve a spot.

Adult Computer Classes
The Library will also be offering an Adult Computer Class in 2009.
The class is designed for adults that are learning how to use a computer. Basic skills will be covered
including using e-mail and attaching photographs, using the Internet, creating and saving word processing
documents, doing simple computer manintenance (i.e. what to do when your computer freezes), and other
basic computer skills.  Please call us for additional information and to be put on a waiting list
for upcoming classes.
